She had already decided everything. The aesthetic, the mood, the feeling she wanted guests to take home. What she needed was someone who could make it happen in Italy. He had the white tuxedo jacket months before the wedding day. Some couples know exactly what they want.

Sofia, from Mexico, and Ryan, from Canada, spent a week at Casa Olivi before their wedding — with their wedding party, their families, their closest friends. By the time the ceremony happened, the property already felt like theirs. Three days of events, each with its own register. A pizza lunch to open, easy and unhurried. A candlelit rehearsal dinner poolside for 22, linen tablecloths and pillar candles running the length of the table, no florals — just light. Then the wedding day itself: a sunset ceremony in the garden with the Marche hills behind it, white pedestals, ivory flowers, Sofia walking down the aisle to Leon Bridges. And the reception — a long table under a crystal gazebo, chandeliers, all white, open on three sides to the landscape.

Mexico arrived at the end of the evening. Sofia’s father brought the mezcal from Oaxaca. A cigar bar waited for those who knew to find it.
